With over 200 vineyards producing some of Australia’s greatest and most iconic wines, Mornington Peninsula stands alone as Australia’s adventure playground. Nestled between surf coast beaches a mere 90 minutes from the Melbourne CBD, the region boasts pristine Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Pinot Grigio that are rich, expressive, opulent and sophisticated. Indeed, the area has long been a secret utopia for wine lovers. From the gentle undulating countryside of the north, through the rich fertile wooded uplands tumbling down to the southern plains, it now produces some of the finest wine grapes in the country. The happy coincidence of late ripening and a prolonged, gentle autumn, results in fully ripe grapes with intense flavours, high natural acidiy and fine tannins.

拥有200多个酒庄并出产澳大利亚一些最棒最具代表性的葡萄酒，Mornington Peninsula被誉为澳洲葡萄酒的乐园。坐落于冲浪海岸和墨尔本之间，距离墨尔本大约90分钟车程。这里的主角品种Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz和Pinot Grigio都具有丰腴多汁，充满表现力的成熟特质，一直被视为葡萄酒爱好者的乌托邦。Mornington Penisula的地理和气候引导着葡萄的晚熟，绵长温暖的秋天让葡萄可以充分熟成，风味集中且高酸，单宁细腻

Expect loads of aromatic, dense, lightly coloured yet perfumed spicy fruit, to violets, strawberies and glace cherry, to forest floor, damp earth and mushroom aromas, to spicy, brambly, exotic Pinot, deep red.

从轻酒体果味十足到紫罗兰花香满溢，再到湿树林，菌菇，香料味偏重的重酒体黑皮诺，应有尽有。Complex, broad flavours running the full spectrum from chablis like steely, acidic and mouth watering green apple and grape fruit, through to lees stirred, rich, ripe melon and toffee flavours in a warmer, broader style. The micro climates here are truly wonderful, with small distances impacting the vineyards greatly.

此地的霞多丽也是风格图谱很广，从Chablis风格的高酸纤细青色水果风格到酵母搅拌陈酿出来的熟成焦糖风味，可以说这里的微气候让很短的距离产生很大的差异。Expect spicy, white pepper, slow ripening cool climate shiraz, unlike Barossa and McLarenvale.

不同于Barossa和McLaren Vale, 这里的Shiraz更加具有慢熟葡萄的特征。

Kooyong, Yabby Lake, Ten Minutes by Tractor, Paringa, Bellingham Estate, Dromana Estate, Eldridge, Foxey’s Hangout, Port Phillip Estate, Winbirra, Hurley, Stoniers, Oceans Eight, Mooraduc Estate, Scorpo…with over 200, you are really spoilt for choice!

RECREATIONS

The beaches nearby boast some of Australia’s most famous surf beaches, and safe, gentle bays. Try Portsea, Sorrento, Rosebud, Balnarring and Flinders for truly beautiful surf, water, and places to base yourself to take in all the region has to offer. Red Hill offers Burgundy-like rolling hills, forest, vineyards and pristine air. It is a heaven amidst the vines.

All of these towns boast restaurants, hotels and wine bars that can accommodate the most picky traveller, and the spas and retreats are first class. Most vineyards have restaurants, with Tuck’s Ridge, T’Gallant and Montalto  being my personal favourites
