奥莉薇拯救马戏团
即使人类的童年无休无止，
一个人的童年也只有一次。
即使在童年里，
也不是每一天都能过成狂欢节，
每一次都能成为灯光下的焦点。
上学前的奥莉薇兴致勃勃地给两个小弟弟做早餐，
“她帮了妈妈好大一个忙。”
画面上却是狼藉一片的厨房和若无其事走出去的主人公。
孩子们以游戏般的激情来参与成年人的家务，
最后留下的那个烂摊子谁来收拾呢？
“妈妈！”
Before school, Olivia likes to make pancakes for her new little brother, William, and her old little brother, Ian.
上学前，奥莉薇娅喜欢做煎饼给弟弟们吃——小弟弟威廉和大弟弟伊安。
This is a big help to her mother.
这可真是帮了妈妈的大忙。
After a nice breakfast, it's time to get dressed.
吃过美味的早饭，该去换衣服了。
Olivia has to wear this really boring uniform.
奥莉薇娅只能穿她那身毫无特点的学校制服。
Of course you can always accessorize.
当然啦，总是可以加上些配饰的。
Beep, beep - coming through.
嘀——嘀——冲过去。
Today is Olivia's turn to tell the class about her vacation.
今天轮到奥莉薇娅给同学们讲她出门旅游的事情。
Olivia always blossoms in front of an audience.
有人听自己说话，奥莉薇娅真是心花怒放的。
"One day my mother took Ian and me to the circus," she began. "William couldn't come because he still has to nap.
“一天，我妈妈带着我和伊安一起去看马戏，”她开始讲起来：“威廉没和我们一起去，因为他要睡午觉。
"But when we got there, all the circus people were out sick with ear infections.
“我们到那里的时候，整个马戏团的人都因为得了中耳炎而病倒了。
"Luckily I know how to do everything.
“幸好我什么都会做。
"I was Olivia the Tattooed Lady. I drew the pictures on with marker.
“我是纹身小姐奥莉薇娅。我用马克笔画的。
"Then I was Olivia the Lion Tamer.
“然后我是训狮人奥莉薇娅。
"and Olivia the Tight-rope Walker,
“走钢丝的奥莉薇娅。
"I was the Flying Olivia,
“我是空中飞人奥莉薇娅，
"and Olivia, Queen of the Trampoline,
“奥莉薇娅，蹦床女王！
"and I walked on stilts,
and juggled,
and was Olivia the Clown,
and rode a unicycle.
“我还走了高跷，
变了戏法，
扮了小丑，
骑了独轮车！
"and for the grand finale, Madame Olivia and her Trained Dogs. They weren't very trained.
“最后终场，表演的是奥莉薇娅和训狗。那些狗还没太训好呢。
"And that's how I saved the circus. And now I am famous.
“这就是我怎么独挑马戏团的经历。现在我出名了。
"Then one time my dad took me sailing The End."
“后来，有一次，我爸爸带我出海玩。讲完了。”
"Was that true?" Olivia's teacher asks.
“你讲的是真的吗？”老师问。
"Pretty true," says Olivia.
“真的。”奥莉薇娅答道。
"All true?"
“都是真的？”
"Pretty all true."
“千真万确。”
"Are you sure, Olivia?"
“你肯定？奥莉薇娅？”
"To the best of my recollection."
“我记得清清楚楚。”
Gracefully, Olivia heads home.
姿势优美地，奥莉薇娅回家了。
"How was school today, darling?"
“今天上学怎么样？宝贝。”
Olivia's mother asks as usual.
妈妈象往常一样问她。
"Fine," says Olivia.
“很好。”奥莉薇娅回答。
"What did you do?" asks her mother.
“你都做了什么？”妈妈又问。
"Nothing."
“什么也没做。”
It's bedtime, but of course Olivia's not at all sleepy.
该睡觉了，当然，奥莉薇娅还一点都不困呢。
"Good night," says her mother.
“晚安，”她的妈妈说。
"Good night, Mommy," says Olivia.
“晚安，妈妈。”
"Close your eyes."
“闭上你的眼睛。”
"They are closed."
“我闭上了。”
"Then go to sleep."
“那就快睡吧。”
"I am asleep."
“我在睡着呢。”
"And remember, no jumping."
“记着啊，别在床上蹦。”
"Okay, Mommy."
“好吧，妈妈。”
"Olivia, I said,'No jumping!'Who do you think you are? -Queen of the Trampoline?"
“奥莉薇娅，我说过了，‘别在床上蹦！’你以为你是谁？——蹦床女王吗？”
Maybe.
可能是吧。
