As an airtraffic controller, I think our work is an honorable work, we make sure thesafety of the people`s life and the property.

Yes, Ilike my job, Because I like aircraft from my childhood.

I have ever heard of ground collision .The landingaircraft vacated runway and collision with unknown vehicle.

1. Whydid you choose ATC as your career?

为什么你选择管制作为你的职业?

Because I like aircraft since my childhood and I amso proud as an ATC.

The more flight increase,the more my job difficultand pressure great.

3. Whichair traffic control unit do you think is the most challenging one?

Ithink the most challenging is Tower control unit. Because Tower control not only to ensure the safety of theaircraft, and to ensure the safety of the aircraft and ground vehicles

When the pilot report fire on board we should know which position onfire,the pilot intention ,control other aircraft avoid this aircraft,prioritylanding and call fire engine ,ambulance.

Yes,it is necessary.Because the dense smoke in thecabin may cause passengers suffocate,the fire may cause passengers burn,thefire even cause aircraft explode.

Yes, I do.Many foreign flights fly in my airspaceand I must use English to communication with foreign pilots and more and moreChinese pilots use English to communication now.

Not especially hard.Because controllers and pilotsare use of standard communication but if the flight encounter emergencysituation the pilot speak fast then I am not full understand.

The controller should learn English usually,usually listen and speak and use of standard communication with pilot.

ICAO language ptoficiency requirement make useffective learn English and improve our English ability and communication withpilot in English better than before.

Yes ,I have .I think it is necessary.Because it canmake us know the pilot operation through the whole flight and help us issuecontrol instruction.

Yes ,I often.In my control unit usually organizeintercommunication concern between controller and pilot and know the workingprocedure with each other and understand one other in the future work.

I think controllers should issue controlinstruction proper and correct and pilots should operation correct and thecontroller and pilot should understand with each other.

I should keep calm and not quarrel with pilot in myfrequency and I should tell pilot not dispute in this frequence that influenceother aircraft flight safety,we can cooperate with each other after you land.

I should tell pilot must follow my instruction butif not I should tell pilot with responsibility for yourself.If this flightconflict with other flights I should control avoid.

Yes,I have controlled,a flight not land on the runway and made amissed approach due the runway occupied by unknown vehicle.

Forexample:poor visibility,too close to preceding aircraft,strong crosswind,runway occupied by unknown vehicle or aircraft,landing gear problem.

1.  Do you enjoy studying English?

你喜欢学习英语吗?

Yes Ilike study English, By learning English we can enlarge our mental horizons andincrease our knowledge.

2.    What problems do you have in your Englishstudies? What help do you need?

在你的英语学习中有什么困难?你需要什么帮助?

I think speak is the most problem.I need more speakat leisure.

3.       Do you think English is importantin radio communication nowadays?

你认为英语在今天的无线电通话中是重要的吗?

yes. English is important. Because today we have moreand more international flight, they speak English, controller must using Englishto communicate with them, because our work is to make sure the safety andefficiency of the air traffic. Also speak good English will help me to find agood job. To improve English, we must speak more, listen more, and read more.

Now let’s talk about speed adjustment.

4.    Do you have ways to delay approach? What arethey?

Yes I have.For example reduce speed,make orbit,wait and extend downwind can delay approach.

5.    When and why do you need to use speedadjustment?

Approach controller adjust landing sequence andseparation, due to flow control need speed adjustment to satisfy separation andspeed adjustment to cross other aircraft altitude.

6.    What methods do you usually use to adjustspeed?

I usually use adjust mach number, adiust indicatorair speed and adjust ground speed.

I think the main principls for speed adjustment arespeed adjustment should approved by pilot and avoid speed adjustment increaseor reduce alternate.

8.       Do you think controllers shouldkeep speed adjustments to the minimum? Why?

No,I do not think.Beacuse keep speed adjustment tothe minimum cause waste fuel and may cause declare emergency fuel or low fuelwhen landing at destination airport.

Yes .Ihave.An aircraft not extend the landing gear and the pilot request low pass,the final pilot make a touch and go and jar the weel down.

10.  What might be the results if a landingaircraft can only extend landing gear partially?

If a landing only extend landing gear patitally maycause the aircraft forced landing on the runway and fly out the runway and may cause aircraft onfire even explode on the runway.

I should control other flights avoid,give pilotsome suggestions to extend the gear,low pass check gear whether normal in sight,if the pilot request belly landing we should foam carpet on the runway.

13.  Do you use radar separation or procedureseparation in your control unit? What is the difference between them?

在你单位,你经常使用雷达间隔或程序间隔吗?两者之间有什么不同?

Yes,I do. Radar control separation : thesame level 40 kilometers ,same direction cross 15 kilometers,opposite directioncross 40 kilometres. Procedure control separation is 10 minutes.

14.  Is separation changeable in your control unitaccording to the situation of traffic in the air? How can you change it?

依照空中交通形势,在你的管制单位里怎样进行间隔调整的?

Yes, it is. When the routes weather are bad we needincrease separation than normal.When the next control airspacr have flowcontrol we should use speed adjustment and orbit to satisfy the separation.

15.  Why is minimum separation needed in airtraffic control services?

管制服务中为什么需要最小间隔?

Because the minimum separation is the minimumsafety separation among the aircraft,if extend the minimum separation may causeaircraft TCAS alert and traffic conflict.
