2015 年9 月，西南大学拉丁文经藏研究所由西南大学社科处批准成立，隶属于法学院，德国科隆大学托马斯研究所访学归国的陈庆博士、副教授担任创所所长。它是中国第一家致力于拉丁文原典翻译与解释，以及拉丁文教育的学术研究机构。拉丁文经藏研究所已经创建独立的图书馆，收藏近2000 册古希腊文、拉丁文、德文、法文、英文研究资料，4000 册外文复印资料，2000 册中文研究资料，并拥有700 册电子版拉丁文原典。“译注经典，中西合璧，人文化成”是拉丁文经藏研究所的中文所训。
