扇形统计图 pie diagram我们常听到同学说：“老师，我这题只错了一个符号，怎么算全错？”或者说：“小数点错了一位，为什么扣那么多的分？”看来，有些同学对数学学科的一个特点──准确性，缺乏足够的认识．一篇作文，主题明确，中心突出，构思严谨，文字优美，虽说有一两个错例字，是缺点，但也无伤大雅．仍不失为一篇好文章．数学则不然，不仅解题思路要正确，具体解题过程也不能出错，差之毫厘，往住失之千里．

这里介绍两则真实的故事．

1962年，美国发射了一艘飞往金星的“航行者一号”太空飞船．根据预测，飞船起飞 44分以后，9 800个太阳能装置会自动开始工作；80天后电脑完成对航行的矫正工作；10天以后，飞船就可以环绕金星航行，开始拍照．可是，出人意科的是，飞船起飞不到四分钟，就一头栽进大西洋里．这是什么原因呢？后来经过详细调查，发现当初在把资料输入电脑时，有一个数据前面的负号给漏掉了，这样就使得负数变成了正数，以致影响了整个运算结果，使飞船计划失败．一个小小的负号，竟使得美国航天局白白浪费了一千万美元以及大量的人力和时间．

从前，医生常推荐儿童和康复的病人多吃菠菜，据说它里面含有大量的铁质，有养血、补血的功能．可是后来，化学家在研究化肥对蔬菜的有害作用时，无意中却发现，菠菜的实际含铁量并不像书上所讲的那么高，只有所宣传数据的十分之一！化学家对多种菠菜叶子反复进行分析化验，但从未发现哪种菠菜的含铁量比别的蔬菜特别高的情况．大家感到奇怪，有关菠菜含铁高的“神话”到底是从哪里来的．最后发现，原来是90多年前，印刷厂在排版时，把菠菜含铁量的小数点向右错移了一位，从而使这个数据扩大了10倍．

牛顿曾经说过：“在数学中，最微小的误差也不能忽略．”我们平时学习数学，就应该有这种谨慎细心、一丝不苟的态度，严格要求自己，今后在工作生活中才能避免犯更大的错误
