“My Chinese is not quite at the point where I could read the original unaided due to all the technical terms, but I was able to struggle through it with a dictionary and occasional reference to the English translation. I didn't know what ‘宇宙微波背景辐射’ (cosmic microwave background radiation) was, but ‘纳米材料’ (nano-material) was a bit easier.

“The Three-Body Problem was my SF Book Club’s book of the month, it was recommended to me a friend here and I have noticed numerous blogs, articles and online discussions about it so if I am to have any hope of keeping up with the Sci-fi Joneses I’d better give it a shot.

然而，《三体》在中国遭遇如何？

以下是world sf 网站的访谈摘选︰

“At the time of Three Body’s publication, China’s science fiction market was anxious and depressed. The long marginalization of science fiction as a genre led to a small and insular readership. Fans saw themselves as a tribe on an island and felt misunderstood by outsiders. Writers struggled to attract readers outside the tribe and felt that they had to give up their Campbellian “science fiction fundamentalism” and raise the genre’s literary qualities and realism.

“《三体》在中国出版的那段日子，国内科幻市场充斥着焦躁和失落情绪。文坛长期将科幻文学边缘化，使得我们仅存的读者群同样数目稀少、受到孤立。粉丝们觉得他们自己就像是生活在孤岛的族群，与世隔绝、不被理解。作者们努力吸引族群之外的读者，感到不得不放弃坎贝尔出发－磨难－返还（departure-initiation-return）的三段式科幻文学原则”，而把重心转向文学效果和风格自由化。”

 “The New York Times described this book as “a classic science-fiction story in the style of the British master Arthur C. Clarke”. While the comparison makes some sense， stylistically Liu Cixin is very different from Sir Arthur C. I don’t know how much of this is due to the excellent translation by Ken Liu but there is much more characterization and emotion here than any Clarke books I have read.

刘慈欣老师也略有见解：

“Not long ago, Canadian writer Robert Sawyer came to China, and when he discussed Three Body, he attributed my choice of the worst of all possible universes to the historical experience of China and the Chinese people. As a Canadian, he argued that he had an optimistic view of the future relationship between humans and extraterrestrials.

I don’t agree with this analysis. In the Chinese science fiction of the last century, the universe was a kind place…

不久前，加拿大作家Robert Sawyer访问中国，

我们谈到了《三体》，谈到我给宇宙设定的‘本恶’属性，

他把这归因于中国历史性问题的遗留以及中华民族的性格特点。

因为他是加拿大人，

所以他对未来宇宙中人类与天外来客的关系抱持着积极态度。

我当然不同意这种分析论断。上世纪末的中国科幻界，

作者们也曾把宇宙设定为一片祥和之地。”

《三体》之外

以中国电视剧为例

逐渐在世界范围内形成 “观剧群”

在国内好评如潮的琅琊榜（Nirvana In Fire 涅槃重生）

“Since the end of 2015, "Nirvana in Fire" has been broadcast with Korean subtitles on the TV channel Chunghwa TV. The ratings for the series reached record highs for the channel, while online purchase was at No. 7 in the Sourth Korean TV show chart.

“People’s Daily reported that younger generations of South Korean audiences, especially women, were increasingly drawn to Chinese TV series. CJ's Chunghwa TV now features The Empress of China and The Disguiser on their prime time broadcast schedules.”

“自从2015年年末，《琅琊榜》开始以原声搭配韩文字幕的模式在中华台播出。斩获了收视率达该台记录以来最高峰，网络购买播放名次排行第七的好成绩。

“《人民日报》报道称韩国的年轻一代，特别是其中的女性观众越来越被中国电视剧吸引。中华台目前也计划继续引进《甄嬛传》、《伪装者》等剧作。”

值得一提的是，在韩国及日本 ，

《琅琊榜》播出都采用了中文原声搭配双语字幕，

最大限度保留中文之美。

近日，粤语版《琅琊榜》在TVB首播，

尽管在剪辑配音和背景音乐等方面多有改动，

以致大陆剧迷纷纷吐槽TVB版失却了原剧精髓。

但依小编看来，我们也不必如此光火。

国产作品如今正尝试着向外输出，一些磕磕绊绊在所难免。

这些走过的弯路，

未尝不会为日后的大步迈进积攒下更加深厚宝贵的经验。
