Translate the following paragraph into Chinese:(30 minutes)

The old conditions of travel and the new conditions of most travel of today are exactly opposite. For in old travel, as on horseback or on foot now,you saw the country while you traveled. Many of your stopping places were for rest, or because night had fallen, and you could see nothing at night. Under the old system, therefore, a wise traveler might keep moving from day to day, slowly, indeed, but seeing something all the time, and learning what the country was through which he passed by, and talking with the people. But in the new system, he is shut up with his party and a good many other parties in a tight box with glass windows and whirled on through dust if it be dusty, or rain if it be rainy, under arrangements which make it impossible to talk with the people of the country, and almost impossible to see what that country is.

Led by Napoleon, 600,000 soldiers invaded Russia. The Russians knew that they were unable to resist the former, so they completely destroyed the villages and made the enemy nowhere to stay. When the French arrived in Moscow, a big fire suddenly broke out in the city and burned for several days ever since. So the whole Moscow became a scorched earth. In the city of Moscow, the French army had neither houses to live nor food to eat; what is more, it snowed heavily after the big fire, which resulted in countless deaths of starvation and frost. Napoleon had no choice but to withdraw his troops. To his surprise, he was attacked by Russian soldiers on the way back home. His 600,000 soldiers were hardly left any.

Translate the following passage into Chinese:

The truth is that, although the extraordinarily industrious people of China no longer have their emperor, who prayed for them twice a year at the altar of Heaven, the overwhelming majority of them are still men and women of the country-side-agriculturists, or seamen. Few of them have yet traveled far from the ancient beliefs in the gods of the land, sea, river and home or clan. A truly urban class of the European kind is not yet established in China.

How I Learned my English

At twenty-eight, with seven dollars in his pocket, Abraham Lincoln went to Springfield, Illinois, to set up business as a lawyer. Springfield, at that has 1500 thousand people in it. It is not the biggest town Lincoln had ever seen; but it was a big town to him.

He settled down in Springfield. He married Mary Todd----a clever, ambitious woman with a difficult temper. They had children, and he liked to play with the children---even when they scattered pens and ink all over his office. He became a well-known lawyer; and on the whole a successful one. People knew he would not plead a case unless he thought had the right side of it. He was sent to Congress one term, but was not re-elected. It seemed, for a while, he would end his days as a small town lawyer, a local character.
