Can You Fill the Room?

Hello,everyone, do you know how to fill a room? of course there are many ways of it,but this man in the story used a very different way.

大家好！你知道怎么去填满一个房间吗？当然，有很多方法。但是，故事里的这个人用了一个特别的方法。



So the story begins with a very rich man named John. He loved puzzles. He solved puzzles all

day long. But, he was still bored. He thought, “I know. I will make a great game. That will be fun”

故事有一位名叫约翰的富人开启。他非常喜欢猜谜，他整天都在解谜，不过他还是觉得无聊。他心想：“我知道了，我要自己设计一个很棒的谜题，一定很有意思。”



In his house, he had a very large room. He said, “if you can fill my room in one day, I will give you 100,000 dollars.”Everyone in the town wanted to try.

他家里有个非常大的房间。他说：“如果谁能用一天的时间填满我的这个房间，我就给他十万美元。”镇里的每个人都跃跃欲试。



The first man tried to fill the room with stone. At the end of the day, he was very tired, but the

room was still empty.

第一个人想用石头来填满那个房间，结果一天结束了，他累得筋疲力尽，房间却还是很空旷。



The second man tried to fill the room with wood. He worked all day, but the room was not full. “That room is too big.” He said, No one can do this.”

第二个人想用木头来填满房间。他忙活了一整天，结果房间还是没有填满。“那个房间太大了，”他说，“谁也不可能一天填满的。”



The third man said, “I can do it. It’s easy.” Everyone laughed. They thought he could not do it.

Then, he went to the park and played all day. His friend said, “Why are you playing?  You should be working. “ The man said, I cando it. Don’t’ worry.” At eight o’clock at night, the man came to

the room witha small bag. The rich man said “ Haha… That bag is too small. It doesn’t fill the

room.” The man reached into the bag and took out a candle. He lit the candle and said, “You see, the whole room is filled with light!”

第三个人说：“我能行，这很简答。”大家都笑了。他们认为它肯定不行。随后，这个人就去公园玩了一整天，他的朋友说：“你怎么还在玩啊？你应该在忙才对啊。”那个人说：“我能行的，别担心。”到了晚上八点钟，那个人来到那个大房间里，随身只带着一个小袋子。有钱人说：“哈哈…袋子太小了，不可能填满这个房间。”那个人把手伸进袋子里，取出了一支蜡烛。他点燃蜡烛，然后说：“你看，整个房间都被光填满了！”



So this story tells us that sometimes you can’t fill one’s heart with those material things like  money, house, car, but with love that warms one’s heart.

因此，这个故事告诉我们，有时候你不能用金钱，房子，车子等物质来填满一个人的心，但是爱能温暖一个人的心。
