An advertisement centred around "leftover women" in China has gone viral, provoking an emotional debate about single women in the country. 一则围绕中国“剩女”的广告病毒性地传播扩散，引发了关于中国单身女性的情感争论。

 

The issue of unmarried females, often stigmatised as "sheng nu" or leftover women, has long been a topic of concern in a society that prioritises marriage and motherhood for women. 关于未婚女性的问题，通常称为“剩女”，长期以来一直是社会关注的话题，其中对女性的婚姻和生儿育女尤为关注。

The advert was part of "a global campaign to inspire and empower women to shape their destiny".  这则广告是“一项用来激发和赋予女性塑造自己的命运的全球运动”中的一部分。（Because here in somewhere, you write your own destiny.）

 

"The film brings light to the real-life issue of talented and brave Chinese women feeling pressured to get married before they turn 27, for fear of being labelled 'sheng nu'".  这部短片给现实生活中充满才华而勇敢但却在她们27岁之前需要结婚而感到压力，害怕被贴上”剩女“标签的中国女性带来了一丝光亮。

3Heavy pressures from societySingle Chinese women are at "a real turning point" and many are beginning to embrace a single lifestyle and push back the stigma. These women are leading great lives in many ways, in being single. But the torture experienced by the women in holding out against intense marriage pressure is also extremely real. "In Chinese culture, respecting your parents is the most important quality. And not getting married is like the biggest sign of disrespect," shared one woman, who later broke down in tears.  中国文化中，百善孝为先，不结婚就像是最大的不孝。
