好饿的毛毛虫

In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.

月光下，一只小蛋躺在树叶上。

One Sunday morning, the warm sun came up and-POP!-out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

一个星期天的早晨，温暖的太阳升起来。“嘭——”地一声，从蛋里钻出一只小小的、饥肠辘辘的毛毛虫。

He started to look for some food.

毛毛虫开始去寻找吃的东西。

On Monday he ate through one apple, but he was still hungry.

星期一，它沿着一个苹果吃出一个小洞，但是它还是很饿。

On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry.

星期二，它沿着两个梨子啃出了小洞，可他还是很饿。

On Wensday he ate through three plums, but he was still hungry.

星期三，它啃了三个梅子，但它还是很饿。

On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was still hungry.

星期四，它啃了四个草莓，可是它还是很饿。

On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still hungry.

星期五，它吃了五个橘子，但是它还是很饿很饿。

On Saturday, he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, on slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon.

星期六，它在一块巧克力蛋糕上、一个冰激凌蛋卷上、一根泡菜上、一块瑞士奶酪上、一根意大利蒜味腊肠上都啃出了一个小洞，它还在一根棒棒糖上、一块樱桃派上、一根香肠上、一个杯形蛋糕上、一片西瓜上都咬出了一个小小的洞。

That night he had a stomach!

当天晚上，它就开始闹肚子了！

The next day was Sunday again.

接下来又是一个星期天。

The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better.

毛毛虫吃了一片又美又绿的叶子，之后它觉得好多了。

Now he wasn't hungry any more—and he wasn't a little caterpillar any more.

现在，它再也不会觉得饿了——而且，它再也不是一只小小的毛毛虫了。

He was a big, fat caterpillar.

它变成了一个又大又胖的毛毛虫。

He built a small house called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and...

它在它的身体周围造了一个小小的房子，叫作“茧”。它在里面待了两个多星期。然后它在茧上面轻轻咬出了一个小洞，把它自己从茧里面拽出来……

He was a beautiful butterfly!

它变成了一只美丽的蝴蝶！
