祝贺Strathallan学校的学生Ben Addison-Scott以及Alasdair Lightbody，他们凭借在英国校际年轻射手竞标赛以及Cluny Clays射靶场中的精彩表现，获得了入围下一个月世界野外飞靶射击竞标赛的资格。

Ben and Alasdair, both upper sixth, will compete in the Scotland Under 21 team at the World Championships at EJ Churchill in High Wycombe on the last weekend of the school term at the end of June. With the other spot going to a 20 year old, both boys have performed exceptionally well for their age, showing great potential as up-and-coming stars of the sport.

During last month’s British Schools & Young Shot Clay Championship in Bedfordshire, our A team finished second out of 13 schools, only beaten by Millfield. Other UK schools competing included Rugby, Cheltenham, Cokethorpe, Kimbolton and Stowe and, as the only school in Scotland with clay shooting facilities, we were the sole representatives fromnorth of the border. A score of 211/300 secured us the runners up position and Keir Hail-Brown came second in the individual High Gun with a score of 41/50.

Our B team also performed very well at the Schools Championships, finishing third and showing a great deal of resilience and promise for a less experienced group of competitors. Iain Galloway inparticular shot an excellent 43/50, dropping only two targets going into thefinal two stands.

Ben and Alasdair will now be led to theWorld Championships by our coach Eddy Buchan who is the youngest fellow of theAssociation of Professional Shooting Instructors. The boys will also besupported by Master in Charge of Clay Pigeon Shooting Paul Vallot, who has seena particularly talented wave of pupils come through the school in recent years.
