Pete the Cat《皮特猫》系列绘本，是近几年来美国最畅销的情绪绘本，风靡全美，几乎每个家庭的孩子都有一册《皮特猫》。这只可爱的猫咪总是随遇而安，无论遇到什么倒霉的事情，它都一派轻松，保持愉快的心情去笑对一切。Pete的个性非常鲜明，酷酷的，很能吸引小朋友。

这是mom分享的皮特猫系列第三本，Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons《皮特猫的四个酷酷的纽扣》。

皮特猫穿上了他最喜欢的上衣，衣服上有4颗又圆又大、时髦又多彩的纽扣。可是这4颗超喜爱的纽扣一个接一个的掉了，皮特猫怎么办？它哭了吗？一起看看吧……

作者Eric Litwin (也称Mr.Eric)是美国有名的故事创作者、音乐人，来自亚特兰大。他擅长演奏吉他、唱歌、讲故事，用故事和音乐，把快乐带给读者。Eric最初是一位老师，他发现音乐能帮助孩子们喜欢学习，爱上读书。于是他每天带着吉他去上课。回家后又开始创作故事和音乐…他的生活就是这么充满快乐，他也时时把快乐带给别人！

插图James Dean，是美国亚特兰大一位非常活跃的艺术家，1999年，他绘制了Pete这只猫儿。2006年他自助出版了The Misadventures of Pete the Cat。后来Mr Eric为这只猫特意写了一个故事，并创作歌曲，俩人开始合作，并在美国各地表演，引起很大反响。皮特猫穿上了他最喜欢的大衣，衣服上有4颗又圆又大、时髦又多彩的纽扣。然后出现了这个句子：“He loved his … so much, he sang this song：…”唱着唱着突然只听“POP” （啪）的一声第1颗扣子应声掉在了地上，但是这只皮特猫 kept singing his song:… ，依旧是那么的乐观。可以问问娃“Did Pete cry？ (皮皮猫哭了吗？）” 来看看人家怎么回答的：“Goodness, no! (我的个天呐，才没呢！）” 。

更好玩的是，在所有纽扣都掉光后，说Still have my belly button （还有我的肚脐眼哦）。注意，肚脐眼belly button，正好与纽扣button构成一对“同根”的词，一种美式的幽默。

另外，4-1=3、3-1=2······ A minus B equals C 只需简单替换里面的数字，妈妈再也不用担心我的数学啦。

在故事结束的时候，作者依旧给出了一个moral（寓言）：Stuff will come and stuff will go. We keep on singing. （世事难料，我们还是要乐观面对。）所以说，《皮特猫》系列非常有利于培养孩子自信、乐观、勇敢的优秀品格，它让孩子学会接纳自己、直面困难、乐于分享！边听边读吧~

Pete the Cat put on his favorite shirt with four big, coloful, round, groovy buttons. He loved his buttons so much, he sang this song:

皮特猫穿上它最爱的黄衬衫，那上面有四颗大大的，彩色的，圆圆的，酷酷的扣子。它非常喜欢它的扣子，它唱着歌：



"My buttons, my buttons, my four groovy buttons. My buttons, my buttons, my four groovy buttons!"

“我的扣子，我的扣子，我四颗酷酷的扣子。我的扣子，我的扣子，我四颗酷酷的扣子。”



POP! OH NO! One of the buttons popped off and rolled away. How  many buttons are left?

蹦！哦，不！一颗扣子掉落下来滚跑了！还剩下了几颗扣子呢？



Three. 4-1=3 （Four minus one equals three.)



Did Pete cry? Goodness, no! Buttons come and buttons go. He kept on sing his song: "My buttons, my buttons, my three groovy buttons. My buttons, my buttons, my three groovy buttons!"

皮特猫哭了吗？天哪，没！扣子来，扣子去。他继续唱着歌：“我的扣子，我的扣子，我三颗酷酷的扣子。我的扣子，我的扣子，我三颗酷酷的扣子。”

1! 2-1=1。皮特猫哭了吗？天哪，没！扣子来，扣子去。他继续唱着歌：“我的扣子，我的扣子，我一颗酷酷的扣子。我的扣子，我的扣子，我一颗酷酷的扣子。”



POP! OH NO! Last buttons popped off and rolled away! How  many buttons are left?

蹦！哦，不！最后一颗扣子掉落下来滚跑了！还剩下了几颗扣子呢？



Zero. 1-1=0 （One minus one equals zero.) Did Pete cry? Goodness, no! Buttons come and buttons go. Pete looked down at his buttonless shirt, and what do you think he saw?

0! 1-1=0。皮特猫哭了吗？天哪，没！扣子来，扣子去。皮特低头看了看自己没有了扣子的衬衫……你猜，他看到了什么？



HIS BELLY BUTTON! And he kept on singing his song:

它的肚脐眼！并且，它继续唱着它的歌：



"My button, my button, still have my belly button. My button, my button, still have my belly button."

“我的扣子，我的扣子，依然还有我的肚脐。我的扣子，我的扣子，依然还有我的肚脐。”



I guess it simply goes to show that stuff will come and stuff will go. But do we cry? Goodness, NO! We keep on singing.

我猜，它仅仅要表达世事难料。但是我们哭了吗？天哪，没有！我们继续唱歌。
