如果说你们爱看网络言情小说，那么在你麻麻的这个年龄的时候恐怕最爱的小说就是简爱啦，什么，你不信，快去问问妈妈！

简爱全名Jane Eyre， 作者是著名的英国Bronte三姐妹中的Charlotte Bronte（对的，写书力max的三姐妹），呼啸山庄听过吧，就是Charlotte老妹写的，不过一家虽然笔功厉害，但命运却是坎坷的，Charlotte的兄弟姐妹们都因为当时的肺感冒相继去世，Charlotte在39岁的时候也便因为此感冒逝世。

好吧背景就介绍到这里，重点来啦（敲黑板），情节，笔者想了想现代最接近于简爱的novel莫属五十度灰了(没看过的请跳过~mua~），oopse，就是霸道总裁爱上普通少女的剧情，笔者看完简爱一度怀疑五十度灰抄袭简爱，然后改成了R-rated plot (不懂的孩子请度娘~)。 简爱的剧情是这样的：女主人公Jane Eyre出生于贫寒家庭，两岁即便失去父母，从此寄人篱下，但又遭姨妈嫌弃长得plain加上说话太冲，又被撵到了一个糟糕的寄宿学校，但Jane运气蛮好，半年学校有了改善，所以Jane is not miserable at all time，毕业后，Jane去了Thornfield去当家庭教师， 遇上了土豪贵族Rochester，人生中的第一个crush（少女脸）。 Rochester对Jane也是灰常喜欢（当然聪明的男主不会轻而易举的表达自己的感情了）。 此处不剧透了省略n多拍档。 Jane住在Thornfield一切都好，但每晚总能听到从阁楼传来的诡异笑声，这是闹鬼，还是另有说法。

灰姑娘逆袭成功，却要离开王子，又是为什么捏？

本文小作者 Suzz 结合原文对Jane Eyre里的人物做了详尽的个性分析，节选Jane的片段：

Modest:  “My home, then, when I at last find a home,—is a cottage; a little roomwith whitewashed walls and a sanded floor...Above, a chamber of the samedimensions as the kitchen, with a deal bedstead and chest of drawers; small,yet too large to be filled with my scanty wardrobe: though the kindness of mygentle and generous friends has increased that, by a modest stock of suchthings as are necessary.”

Generous:  “[The Rivers] who had saved my life, whom, till this hour, I had lovedbarrenly, I could now benefit...the affluence which was mine, might be theirstoo.  Were we not four?  Twenty thousand pounds shared equally wouldbe five thousand each, justice—enough and to spare: justice would bedone,—mutual happiness secured.”

Honesty:  “You examine me, Miss Eyre,” said he: “do you think me handsome?”

I should, if I had deliberated, have replied to this question by something conventionally vague and polite; but the answer somehow slipped from my tongue before I was aware—“No, sir.”

Lawful: [About marrying Rochester before Bertha’s death] “Yes; I feel now that I was right when I adhered to principle and law, and scorned and crushed the insane promptings of a frenzied moment.  God directed me to a correct choice: I thank His providence for the guidance!”

Temper: “How dare I, Mrs. Reed?  How dare I?  Because it is the truth.  You think I have no feelings, and that I can do without one bit of love or kindness; but I cannot live so: and you have no pity...People think you a good woman, but you are bad, hard-hearted.  You are deceitful!”Prideful: “Do you think I can stay to become nothing to you?  Do you think I am an automaton?—a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup?  Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless?  You think wrong!—I have as much soul as you,—and full as much heart!”Overall, Jane is a good Christian, exhibitingtraits such as modesty, generosity, honesty, and lawfulness. Jane shows themodesty of her life through being satisfied with the bare necessities. She isgenerous, willingly giving away a large portion of her inheritance to theRivers. Her honesty is often shown when she talks with Rochester; she gives himher actual thoughts. Finally, she shows her lawfulness by refusing to be withRochester while he is still married.

However,Jane also has faults. She has a temper, especially when young. She often lashed out against the Reeds. Even if her actions might have been justified, Christian teachings tell us to “turn the other cheek.”  While Jane has mellowed out overtime, she still shows her temper from time to time. Jane is also somewhat prideful, often not willing to lower her status.
