猜猜我有多爱你
Little Nutbrown Hare,
小兔子
who was going to bed,
就要上床睡觉了
held on tight to
他紧紧地抓住
Big Nutbrown Hare's very long ears.
大兔子的长耳朵
He wanted to be sure that
他想要确认
Big Nutbrown Hare was listening.
大兔子在听（他说话）
"Guess how much I love you." he said.
“猜猜我有多爱你”他说
"This much,"
"这么多"
said Little Nutbrown Hare,
小兔子说道
stretching out his arms
他伸开双臂
as wide as they could go.
尽可能地宽
Big Nutbrown Hare
大兔子
had even longer arms.
有更长的手臂
"But I love you this much," he said.
“可我爱你有这么多，”他说
Hmm, that is a lot,
嗯，那很多
thougt Little Nutbrown Hare.
小兔子心想
"I love you as high as I can reach,"
“我爱你像我能够得着的这么高”
said Little Nutbrown Hare.
小兔子说
"I love you as high as I can reach,"
“我爱你像我能够得着的这么高”
said Big Nutbrown Hare.
大兔子说
Then Little Nutbrown Hare
然后小兔子
had a good idea.
有了一个好主意
He tumbled upside down
他翻成倒立
and reached up the tree trunk
with his feet.
再把双脚向上靠在树干上
"I love you all the way up to my toes!"
“我爱你一直到我的脚趾头上！”
he said.
他说
"And I love you
“那我爱你
all the way up to my toes!"
一直到你的脚趾头上！”
said Big Nutbrown Hare,
大兔子说
swinging him up over his head.
把小兔子甩向他的头顶上方
"I love you as high as I can hop!"
“我爱你像我跳的这么高！”
laughed Little Nutbrown Hare,
小兔子大声笑着
bouncing up and down.
上蹿下跳
"But I love you as high as I can hop,"
“可我爱你像我跳的这么高”
smiled Big
Nutbrown Hare
大兔子微笑着
and he hopped so high
他跳起来那么高
that his ears touched
他的耳朵都碰到了
the branches above.
上面的树枝
That's good hopping,
跳得真棒
thought Little
Nutbrown Hare.
小兔子想
I wish I could hop like that.
我希望我也能那样跳
"I love you all the way down the lane
“我爱你一直沿着这条小道
as fare as the river,"
到小河那儿那么远”
cried Little
Nutbrown Hare.
小兔子大声喊着
"I love you across the river
我爱你越过小河
and over the hills,"
翻过小山坡
said Big
Nutbrown Hare.
大兔子说
That's very far,
那很远呢
thought Little Nutbrown Hare.
小兔子想
He was almost too sleepy
他已经差不多困得
to think anymore.
没法再思考了
Then he looked beyond
the thornbushes,
然后他看看荆棘林上方
out into the big dark night.
浩瀚的夜空
Nothing could
没有什么能
be farther than the sky.
比天空还远的了吧
"I love you right up to the moon,"
“我爱你一直到月亮上”
he said,
他边说
and closed his eyes.
边闭上了眼睛
"Oh, that's far,"
“噢，那很远”
said Big
Nutbrown Hare.
大兔子说
"That is very, very far."
“很远，很远”
Big
Nutbrown Hare settled Little
Nutbrown Hare
大兔子把小兔子放在
into his bed of leaves.
树叶做的床上
Then he lay down close by
然后他在边儿上躺下
and whispered with a smile,
微微笑着 轻声地说
"I love you right up to the moon —
“我爱你一直到月亮上
and back."
再原路返回”
注解：nutbrown - adj. 深棕色的，栗色的
hare - n. 兔子
tumble - v. 翻到，跌倒
