单选提前行动Single-choice Early Action(SCEA)和限制性提前行动Restrictive Early Action(REA)是两种特殊的提前行动，是有排他性的，即限制你申请其他学校的EA和ED。SCEA的典型代表目前是耶鲁大学，明确声明你选择了SCEA之后，就不能同时申请其他学校的EA和ED了。

普林斯顿和耶鲁大学的本科录取都是Single Choice Early Action，这种招生方式具体是指什么呢？

我们以耶鲁大学的招生网站上找到最准确对对该招生方式的定义。

以下是耶鲁大学的：Ifyou would like an admissions decision by mid-December, you may apply underYale’s Single-Choice Early Action program. The program is like othernon-binding plans in that candidates who are admitted early need not respond tothe offer of admission until May 1, and may apply to other schools for RegularDecision. Being admitted to Yale early would, forexample, still allow you to compare offers of financial aid in the spring.

如果你想在12月中旬知道录取结果，你可以以SCEA申请耶鲁大学。这种方式可以早知道录取结果，却无需早确定学校，这种方式也像其他方式一样在5月1号给学校答复就可以，而且还可以以RD申请其他学校。如果被Yale提前录取，举个例子，允许您在春天比较录取中的财政资助。

Yale’sEarly Action plan is unlike many other programs in that if you apply forSingle-Choice Early Action at Yale, you may not simultaneously apply for EarlyAction or Early Decision to any other school with a few exceptions (*see“Applying to Other Colleges and Universities” below). If you apply early toYale, you are indicating that the only Early Action/Early Decision applicationyou intend to file is Yale’s, unless another early application is covered byone of the exceptions listed below.

耶鲁大学的EA不同于其他项目：如果你以SCEA申请了耶鲁，那么你不能以EA或者ED的方式申请其他学校（也有几种例外的情况）。如果你以SCEA的方式申请了耶鲁，你需要签署协议：你只能以EA和ED的方式申请耶鲁大学。

For Single-Choice Early Action, the deadline to submit theCommon Application and the Yale-specific questions and Writing Supplement,along with the application fee or fee waiver request is November 1. Studentswill be notified of the admissions committee’s decision in mid-December.Admitted students will have until May 1 to accept an offer of admission.

如果以SCEA的方式申请，需要提交COMMONAPP和耶鲁具体问答和写作补充及申请费，截止日期是11月1号，学生会在12月中旬知道录取结果，在5月1号做出是否去该校的决定。

选择SCEA方式申请Yale，可以申请以下学校.

*Applyingto Other Colleges and Universities

If you are a Single-Choice Early Action applicant to Yale, you may applyto another institution’s early admission program as follows:

·   You may apply to any college’snon-binding rolling admission program.

非约束性滚动招生大学

·   You may apply to any public institutionat any time provided that admission is non-binding.

其他非约束性申请公立大学

·   You may apply to another college’sEarly Decision II program, but only if the notification of admission occursafter January 1. If you are admitted through another college’s Early DecisionII binding program, you must withdraw your application from Yale.

你可以申请ED2项目，但是只能是录取结果在1.1之后。你可以撤除耶鲁的申请。

·   You may apply to another college’s Early Action II program.

你可以申请其他学校的EA2项目。

· You may apply to any institutionoutside of the United States at any time.

可以申请美国之外的大学。

综上所述，SCEA申请的时候排他性类似于ED，而录取后不用一定去。所以还是要好好研究后再决定是否申请。
