英语题有时喜欢让考生猜测文章中一些有内涵的话是什么意思，这些话通常比较有哲理，或者是一些有名的谚语、俗语。有些谚语我们早已耳熟能详，意思当然也是心知肚明，但是就算知道也不能脱离文章直接选答案，因为文中并不一定就是我们平时想的那样。还有一些“一句多义”，文中用了哪种意思，也需要我们仔细寻找、谨慎推测。

小雨君今天要说的就是：原话文中找，意义上下现。

我们先来看范文：There is an old Spanish proverb which states, “Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week.” How many times have we put off our dreams until tomorrow? I’d say, too many. Our dreams should not, and cannot wait. We have to go for them now!

Nobody likes to talk about death, but the reality is—everybody is going to die at one point. None of us know the day, or the hour. Therefore, today is all we have. Don’t go to your grave with unfulfilled dreams. Make the decision to go after every dream, big or small right now.

There are so many amazing opportunities and people waiting on you. Film festivals, panels, boards, and the top people in your field, all these things are waiting on you! How do you get to them? Simply, follow your dream. Doors that you couldn’t imagine open up when you go after what you want. You will never see those doors if you sit around waiting for a dream to happen, instead of actually working to make it happen.



有一句西班牙谚语说：“明天总是一周中最忙碌的一天。”有多少次我们把梦想推迟到了明天？我必须说，太多次了。我们的梦想不应该也不能等待。我们必须现在就去追寻梦想。

没有人喜欢讨论死亡，但事实是，每个人在某一时刻都会死去。没有人知道是哪一天，或哪个小时。因此，只有今天是我们所拥有的。不要带着未完成的心愿入土。无论梦想是大是小，下定决心现在就去追逐。

有那么多惊人的机遇和人在等着你。电影节、专家团、董事会，你周围的上流人士，这些都在等着你。你怎样接近他们呢？很简单，追逐你的梦想。那些你无法想象的大门为你敞开。如果你坐等梦想实现，而不付诸行动去实现它，你就永远不会看到那些大门在为你打开。

看到这题，首先要去文中找到“西班牙谚语”的原话：“Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week.”我们发现，仅从原话中并不能判断出它的含义，那么就需要在前后文中寻找，通常前后文中会加以解释，我们在后文中看到：How many times have we put off our dreams until tomorrow? 所以，答案是B：我们把今天的工作推到明天。

2. What does the writer mean by saying “Today is all we have”?

A. We can live only today.

B. Nobody likes death.

C. Nobody knows when they will die.

D. None of us are going to die.

同样是理解意义的题目，同样要去文中先找到原话，然后再去上下文找解释，本题的解释就出现在上文中：Nobody likes to talk about death, but the reality is—everybody is going to die at one point. None of us know the day, or the hour. Therefore, today is all we have. 没有人喜欢讨论死亡，但事实是，每个人在某一时刻都会死去。没有人知道是哪一天，或哪个小时。因此，只有今天是我们所拥有的。所以答案就是C：没有人知道他们什么时候会死去。

这是一道普通的阅读题，文中找答案：How do you get to them? Simply, follow your dream.选择D。

4. According to the passage, which is TRUE?

A. As long as you follow your dream, opportunity is always on the way.

B. Everyone has an idea of day of death.

C. Tomorrow is all we will have.

D. Dreams can never come true.

判断正误题可以直接找到正确的，也可以先排除肯定错误的。这题我们可以运用排除法先排除B和C，然后根据最后一段的理解我们可以知道“只要我们努力实践、追寻梦想，我们就有许多机遇”，所以梦想是可以实现的，因此排除D：梦想绝不会成真。最后确定答案A。
