细说A-Level选课和大学专业之间的“亲密关系”

无论是美国的常青藤，澳洲的8大还是英国的罗素集团，都是靠学校实力拼出来的。对于学A-Level的同学来说，冲进罗素，就是莫大的荣耀！
虽说努力学习是必不可少滴，但合理地规划A-Level课程，让其与大学专业相匹配也是相当重要的。成绩达到了要求，但最终还是被惨拒的例子屡见不鲜，学生们都感到很委屈，但依博释国际教育的升学导师的经验来看，多半是当初A-Level选课上出了问题。比如，用A-Level历史成绩申请帝国理工，多半会废了！！！
道理大家都懂：合理分配资源产生最大收益，然而，如何分配A-Level课程才可得到最牛的Offer呢？
先从传说中的基础三科：数学、物理和经济说起。对高中阶段尚未确定大学专业的童鞋来说，这是一个非常合理地搭配！经济通文和商，数学、物理通理工，可谓是四通八达。但总体看，虽然比较平稳，但战法保守。如果申请理工科，同样成绩绝对没有学数学、物理、化学的有竞争力。有童鞋曾在申请帝国理工的时候用的数学、物理、经济和化学4科成绩，但是录取后才发现，能够算作Pre-University的成绩其实只有数学、物理和化学。
那么问题来了？什么样的组合才是理工科的最佳组合？这其实还是要分专业滴。以帝国理工为例，我们来看一下几个主要科系的录取条件：
生物化学系
AAA overall, to include:
· A in Chemistry
· A in another science subject (Biology is preferred but not mandatory) or Mathematics
The ideal combinations would be Chemistry and two further science subjects or Chemistry and one further science subject and Mathematics, but other combinations are considered.
Other qualifications, such as General Studies, Key Skills or Critical Thinking, while useful, will not count towards an offer.
Two AS levels maybe acceptable in place of a third A level.
化学系
Our minimum entry requirement is AAA or A*AA overall, to include:
· A in Chemistry
· A in Mathematics
· A in one other approved subject as specified by the Department (preferred subjects are Biology, Economics or Physics. General Studies is not counted.)
Please note: in most cases offers are made at A*AA with the A*required in Chemistry or Mathematics.
传说中Triple E（电子工程）
Our standard A-level entry requirements are A*AA overall, to include:
· A* in Mathematics
· A in Physics
· A in a third subject (see below)
The third subject can be any from the list below, but we prefer Further Mathematics.
· Applied ICT
· Biology
· Chemistry
· Computer Science
· Computing
· Design and Technology
· Economics
· Electronics
· English Literature
· Further Mathematics
· Geography
· History
· ICT
· Languages (Classical and Modern)
· Music
· MusicTechnology
· Statistics
· Technology
If your school or college does not offer Further Mathematics, you may wish to investigate your local Further Mathematics Network Centre.
Applicants are normally expected to gain these grades at first attempt (i.e. by end of Year 13). It is acceptable to re-take individual AS and A2 modules during years 12 and 13. We will consider applicants who are re-taking A-levels having taken them in Year13 and retaking the following November or May.
还有数学系
For Mathematics degrees (except joint Mathematics and Computer Science) thenormal minimum entry requirement is A*A*A overall, to include:
· A* in Mathematics
· A* in Further Mathematics
· A in one other A-level (Chemistry or Physics will be an advantage)
Competition for places is intense, so your application will be stronger if you are studying subjects with a high mathematical content.
以及物理系的
We require A*A*A overall, to include:
· A* in Mathematics
· A in Physics
所以，综合来看，数学、物理、进阶数学、化学和生物对于理工专业来看算是比较核心的A-Level科目。但因为很多学校并不开设A-Level的生物课程，所以数学 + 物理 + 进阶数学 + 化学就成为众多志在申请G5理工专业的大牛们的最佳选择，这也是在帝国理工和多位同学交流后得出的经验。
至于经济和商科专业，以伦敦政经为例，我们也同样来看一下经济专业的录取条件：
Economics
A*AA (to include A* in Maths) plus a pass in a fourth subject for those with 4 or more A2s or A*AA plus an A grade in Further Maths AS for those offering AS Further Maths only
Mathematics
首先，申请伦敦政经的经济专业，A-Level的数学成绩那是必须要有滴，而且是要有A*。
其次，进阶数学是被强力推荐的，对申请是有帮助的。毕竟，学经济这玩意儿数学计算是必不可少的！
另外，A-Level经济成绩理所当然也是要有的，如果没有，那会很麻烦的！
综上所述，对于本科申请经济专业的童鞋来说，数学是非常非常重要的，经济是非常重要的！当然，从某种程度来说，物理成绩对于经济专业的申请也并不一定是完全无所帮助的。
虽说伦敦政经的经济系的官网上并未提到A-Level物理，但根据众多伦敦政经的好友分享申请经验来看，当年申请用A-level物理成绩申请还是非常给力的。虽说物体受力运动和GDP增长八竿子打不着，但是物理学中培养的抽象思维对经济学的学习还是很有帮助滴！
其实还有一点是可以确定的，对于学三科的童鞋来说，A-Level商务（Business）和会计（Accounting）对于商科和经济申请其实是不大受待见的，这点是包括伦敦政经在内众多名校明确点明了的。可能是因为这些学科专业性太强了吧，而本科学校一般比较喜欢基础学科的缘故？但对于学四科或者以上的童鞋来说，在同等条件下，一定是更占优势的。
