看，火车来了

不要乱扔垃圾...

Milly and Molly dawdled along in the sun.Suddenly,they heard the rumble of a train.

米莉和茉莉正在野外玩耍。突然，她们听到火车开过来的隆隆声。

“Come on,you'll miss it.” shouted Molly

茉莉大叫起来：“赶快啊，不然就看不到了。”

Milly ran as fast as she could to catch up."No,I won't."she said.

米莉拼命的跟着茉莉跑，她说：“我会看到的。”



They reached the Railway Bridge just as the train snaked around the hill and came towards them.

当她们跑到铁路桥上的时候，火车正绕着小山蜿蜒前进，朝她们开过来。

“I see it,”cried Molly.

茉莉喊了起来：“我看见它了。”

“I saw it first.”puffed Milly.

米莉气喘吁吁的说：“我先看到的。”



High in the blue sky above the train,a small plane drew a soft white line.

就在火车顶上蔚蓝的天空中，一架小飞机画出了一条柔和的白线。

“That's magic,”said Milly. Molly just nodded.

米莉说：“好神奇啊。”茉莉也赞同地点点头。



The rumble of the train grew louder and louder. So loud,it rumbled in Milly and Molly's chests.

火车的轰隆声越来越大。它是那么地响，米莉和茉莉的胸中也跟着隆隆作响。

As it came straight towards them,they wanted to run.

火车冲着她们开过来了，她们都想撒腿就跑。



Suddenly, the engine driver blew two hoots on the whistle and he waved.

突然，“嘟——嘟——”，火车司机鸣了两声汽笛，还向米莉和茉莉挥手致意。

Milly and Molly waved back wildly, jumping up and down as they did.

米莉和茉莉也不断地挥手，兴奋地跳来跳去。



They raced to the other side of the bridge to watch the train snake away.

她们跑到了桥的另一边，看着火车蜿蜒前进，越开越远。

The rumble of the train disappeared, leaving behind a cloud of filthy rubbish.

火车的轰隆声渐渐消失了，不过，一路上它留下了一堆堆肮脏的垃圾。



“Disgusting,”said Milly and Molly together."Come on,let's pick it up."

“真恶心，”米莉和茉莉异口同声地说，“走，我们一起去清理。”

And they did.

于是，她们一起清理垃圾了。



The last piece of rubbish looked more like a parcel.It was heavy.

最后一堆垃圾看起来很像一个包裹，而且很重。

“It's money,”said Milly, as she tore off the wrapping paper.“It's stacks of money”shrieked Molly,as her legs went wobbly.“There's too much to keep.” sighed Milly.

“这是钱啊。”米莉撕开包装纸，惊讶地说。“这么多钱！”茉莉尖叫了起来，她的腿有些颤抖了。米莉叹了口气说：“这太多了，我们不能留着。”



Milly and Molly took turns carrying the heavy parcel of money, and the rubbish ,to the Police Station.

米莉和茉莉轮流抱着这个装满钱的沉重的包裹和一大袋垃圾，朝警察局走去。

“Hello,hello,hello,what have we got here then？”inquired the policeman.

“嘿、嘿、嘿，看看你们给我送什么来了？”一位警察叔叔问道

“We found all this money by the train track,”stammered Milly.

米莉结结巴巴的回答：“我们在铁路边上发现了这些钱。”

“We were picking up the rubbish,”Molly added

茉莉补充说道：“当时，我们正在捡垃圾。”



“Well done,”beamed the poiceman."How would you like to be rewarded?"

“干得好。”警察叔叔微笑着说，“你们想得到什么样的奖励呢？”

“I know!”gasped Milly and Molly together.

“我知道了！”米莉和茉莉异口同声的说

“We'd like a plane to go up in the sky and write don't litter.”

“我们想让飞机飞上天空并且写上‘不要乱扔垃圾’。”



The next day Milly and Molly stood with the poiceman on the Railway Bridge.

第二天，米莉、茉莉和警察叔叔一起站在铁路桥上面。

High in the sky, for all the world to see,were the words 'don't litter'.

在高高的蓝天上，出现了几个全世界都可以看到的字——“不要乱扔垃圾”。



The train driver hooted and waved. And as the rumble of the train disappeared ,there wasn't one piece of rubbish to be seen.

火车司机又向他们鸣笛和招手了。火车越走越远，轰隆声渐渐消失了。不过，它没有留下一片垃圾。
